Q: My puppy is almost a year old. he has a rash on his tummy. he has been crying for about two days all ready and rolls on the floor so the carpet can help him scratch of the itchness an the vet has not yet gave me any medicine for his rash. what should i do? or what do u recommend?
A: You can give your pet benadryl (diphenydramine -sku 10246) at a dose of 1/2 mg per lb twice a day. this should control the itch.

Fleas will not die!
Q: Hello, my name is amber winn - i have a 7 month old cat, oliver, whom i rescued. he came with fleas and i treated him once with hartz brand medicine. later to find out it is a bad product. so i bought a dose of frontline at the vet when he got neutered about 2 weeks ago. the fleas have reduced but they are still around his face. i treated the carpet and it has not improved. the worst part about this is - i am allergic to them! i get very large quarter sized welts and im the only one in the house with the problem. please help, oliver and i are getting eaten alive! thank you!
A: There is a tablet called capstar which you can give to your pet. it will kill adult fleas within 30 minutes of giving the dose. the effects last for 24 hours.

Oral medicine
Q: My yellow lab has an ear infection his vet gave him a ear drop medication, but my dog won't let anybody touch his ear therefore it's not getting helping. it's a fight holding him down and now he's on gaurd and won't go near anybody. is there an oral medicine for eye infections?
A: The ears may need flushing under sedation. ask your vet. also sometimes i find an injection of a short acting cortisone derivative reduces the pain, swelling and inflammation and allows you easier time to medicate. ask your vet
Heartworm medicine that dog will not eat
Q: My dog will not eat the heartworm medicine that i tried to give him several times. i have put it in treats and fruit but he will not eat it. is there a liquid medicine or an injection that i can give him? i live in a very wooded area. any help would be appreciated. thank you.
A: If you are using heartgard plus chewtabs, try cutting it into small slices. if crushable tablets, do so and mix in food. if none of the above work, purchase a pet piller from us.
